This policy provides clear guidance on the acceptable use of AI technologies by authors, reviewers, and editors.

1. Guidelines for Authors

1.1 Disclosure of AI Use

Authors are required to explicitly disclose the use of generative AI tools at any stage of manuscript preparation. This includes, but is not limited to, text generation, data analysis assistance, translation, or content refinement beyond basic language editing. The disclosure should clearly describe the nature, purpose, and extent of AI usage.

1.2 Author Responsibility and Accountability

The use of AI does not diminish the responsibility of authors. Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, originality, authenticity, and integrity of their work. All AI-generated or AI-assisted content must be carefully reviewed, verified, and validated by the authors prior to submission.

1.3 Authorship and Contribution

AI tools, software, or automated systems cannot be credited as authors or co-authors. Authorship is limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions and can take public responsibility for the content.

1.4 Citation and Source Integrity

Generative AI tools must not be cited as primary or scholarly sources. Authors must ensure that all references included in the manuscript are credible, verifiable, and derived from reliable academic sources.

1.5 Ethical Compliance and Misuse of AI

The inappropriate or undisclosed use of AI tools—such as generating entire manuscripts, fabricating data, or misrepresenting research findings—constitutes a violation of publication ethics. Such actions may lead to rejection, correction, or retraction, and may also result in further ethical review.

1.6 Copyright, Licensing, and Data Protection

Authors must ensure that any AI-assisted content complies with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and data protection standards. The use of AI must not infringe upon third-party intellectual property rights or compromise confidential or sensitive data.

2. Guidelines for Reviewers and Editors

2.1 Restricted Use of AI in Evaluation

Peer reviewers and editors are strongly discouraged from using generative AI tools to draft peer-review reports, editorial comments, or publication decisions. The evaluation process must be based on independent scholarly judgment to maintain the integrity and credibility of the review process.

2.2 Confidentiality and Data Security

Manuscripts under review are confidential documents. Uploading or sharing manuscript content with AI tools may pose risks to confidentiality and data security, and therefore must be avoided.

2.3 Limited and Transparent Use

In cases where AI tools are used for minor language editing or clarity improvements, such usage should be minimal, appropriate, and transparently disclosed.

All AI-assisted processes used within the journal’s workflow are subject to strict human oversight. Editorial decisions are made solely by qualified editors based on academic merit, ethical standards, and peer-review outcomes.

Any outputs generated through automated tools—such as plagiarism detection, similarity checks, or image analysis—are carefully reviewed and verified by the editorial team to ensure accuracy and fairness before any action is taken.
