Abstract

Financial literacy plays an important role in shaping effective investment decisions and long-term financial well-being. Academicians, despite possessing higher educational qualifications, may differ considerably in their level of financial knowledge, investment awareness, risk perception, and financial planning practices. The present study examines the impact of financial literacy on the investment behaviour of academicians in the State of Uttar Pradesh using. The study is based on information collected from published research papers, academic journals, books, reports of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE), government publications, and other reliable secondary sources. The study reviews existing evidence regarding financial knowledge, financial attitudes, investment preferences, risk-taking behaviour, and investment decision-making among academicians and educated professionals. Descriptive and analytical approaches will be used to synthesize the available evidence and identify patterns and research gaps. The study is expected to demonstrate the importance of financial literacy in promoting informed, diversified, and systematic investment behaviour among academicians. The findings may assist educational institutions, policymakers, and financial institutions in developing effective financial education and investor awareness programmes.
